We are frequently asked about methods to keep drywall taping tools in best operating condition and how to avoid costly problems.
In the summer, especially when running water may be difficult to come by on jobsites, it is recommended to keep tools as clean as possible and lubricate often.
In the event residual mud is left on/in tool after cleaning, it is possible it will dry solid, causing difficult operation. Soaking tool in a combination of water and white vinegar for 15-20 minutes will often soften dried mud compound and allow tool to return to effective operating condition.
